Your Data AI Agent Marked a Record Purged Too Soon

Your Data AI agent had one job: delete a customer’s records when asked, and mark the request done.

It ran the delete, saw the report come back clean, and marked the record purged. But a backup copy of that record was sitting in another storage system. Nobody checked that copy, because the report said the job was finished.

Now your key customer runs their audit and finds that copy. The audit fails. Your customer’s compliance team is the one who caught it, not you.

A pilot waiting on the tarmac has seen this problem before. Air traffic control does not let every plane push back the moment it is ready. When there are more planes than the sky can safely hold, each one gets a slot and a release time, and nobody calls a flight “departed” until it is actually in the air.

Your agent can treat every delete request the same way: hold it in a visible line, and only call it done once every copy, backups included, is confirmed gone.

Next time you’re in standup, ask your team: “can you show me the record that got marked purged and prove every copy of it is actually gone?”

If you want this fixed properly, InTheValley‘s senior engineers know how to build it.
